5 Easy Steps
There are 5 easy steps to Screen Printing with the Morantz Screen-A-Print: Artwork, Coating & Burning, Cleaning, Printing, and Drying.

1. Artwork
Screen Printing starts with a design. This can be created on a computer, by hand, received from the client, developed by an artist, obtained through clip art, or any other source. The built-in light table on the machine makes it easy to produce your artwork.

2. Coating & Burning
The next step is to transfer your image onto a screen. This is done by exposing an emulsion coated screen to the lights built into the machine for only 5 1/2 minutes. The emulsion makes the screen light sensitive and produces the equivalent of a photographic negative. If you have multiple colors, a separate screen will be produced for each color.

3. Cleaning
Next, take the screen to a water source and wash out all of the unexposed emulsion. The image has now been transferred to the screen and is ready for printing.

4. Printing
To print an item, place the item on the platen to hold it in place. Then, slide the prepared screen into the grooves of the machine. This perfectly registers it (lines it up) with the platen and the item to be printed. Place your ink color of choice on the screen and pull the squeegee across the frame. Repeat for each additional color. Remove the screen and place on side rack. The ink has now been transferred and your print is complete.

5. Drying
To dry, swivel the machine’s dryer over the printed item. Drying times average between 30-90 seconds. With proper drying, printed garments will maintain their brilliant color and elasticity even after being washed repeatedly.

Your shirts are now ready to deliver to your clients!
